Author of My Life

Hi, (E. writing)
I want to start off with a bible verse.
It's Romans 8:28 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.' (ESV)

I know, your thinking- wow, haven't heard that one before! -right?! But hold on! Think about that for a moment. ALL things, not just a few things, not just big things or little things, but ALL things work together for good. For Good. For those who love God. Notice it doesn't say 'For those who are completely perfect and love God', or 'For those who always obey and love God', it simply says 'For those who love God, and are called according to His purpose,' meaning anyone who has received Christ into their heart, as their Lord and savior. If you have given your life to him, then you are called according to his purpose.
Now just because it says -everything will work for good- doesn't mean that nothing bad will ever happen, and your life will be perfect, or that you won't be hurt, it just means that whatever happens, happens for a reason. If you seek God through it, he will always, without fail, turn it for good.
When bad things happen in my life, God always takes them and shows me a lesson to learn from them. Many times its a hard lesson that I honestly don't want to learn. Sometimes it's even something that I think I already knew. Recently He's been showing me just how far He will let me mess up, just to learn a lesson, and to remind me that no matter what I do He still loves me. Yes, there are always consequences for doing something I shouldn't have, but that is to be expected. In the end I'm always glad to know that I can still learn from mistakes and not repeat them.

Another important point is that God is in control. Completely and totally. Because of this we should always give him full control of our lives. (fyi: very very very hard to do)

An important reminder of how much He is really in control is this: He wrote the story. He is the author. I am a character. He wrote my story. I am a piece of art, subject only to how I am made. He knows what happens at the end. Every detail. He knows my likes and dislikes, what makes me happy and what makes me upset. He watched me grow up even as I rejected Him. He has never stopped loving me. Not for one second. He is with me even when I sin. And he has forgiven me for every sin hundreds of years before they even happen. And through all of this I ask myself daily: Why can't I be in control?
I
Am
Not
Without
Sin
And that is why Jesus laid down his own life for me.

The Woods

Hey people!!!
Here's a story that i had to write for a school assignment. It was hard but fun to write, however, its a bit deppressing, so tell me what you think about it!!

             *      *      *      *      *
Jason was lost in a forest, that much he knew.
He had heard many stories about this forest, of how those who went in were never seen again. No one knew what happened to them, or why they left. They never found bodies, or even a clothing item. Jason had been told many different theories, some said they went to the big cities to become famous, others said it was wild animals, or aliens, but one said it was fairies.
'Fairies..ha!' Jason had laughed at that, 'what! Do you think tinker bell came to kidnap the children and take them to Neverland?!'
He couldn't think of anything else more ridiculous. However, the old woman who had suggested it, looked very sane, and had continued to insist that it was true, that she had seen it happen with her own eyes. She said, no one could go into that forest willingly and ever return home again.
'What about those who went unwillingly?' He had wondered.
He had decided to prove her wrong, and soon set out. After walking a while he quickly lost track of time. Before he knew it, the sun had begun to set, his house was no longer visible, and the trail he was following was no where to be seen. It was pitch black, for the moon didn't show between the trees.
All he was going to do, was stay in the forest for two hours, and then go back. unfortunately, it had been four hours since he had seen any signs of civilization.
He was completely lost and nothing looked even remotely familiar. The fear had long ago set in. He shivered at the though of having to spend the night there and he began to run in the general direction that he thought he had come from. The trees seemed to reach for him with their gnarled branches, and he tripped over a fallen branch. An owl screeched above him.
He began to imagine tiny things flit in and out of the edge of his vision, but then they were real. A small flying object that lit up like a glowing Christmas light. Suddenly there were more of them, and they were everywhere.
They resembled common birds in size, and flickered different shades of color, a deep mahogany here,  a forest green there, others dark blue, and some violet. They swirled and danced in a breathtaking array of light and color.
Jason stood, looking in amazed wonder. He still couldn't see what they were but he was positive the old lady's guess was correct.
  Fairies.
He had no fear of being carried off by them, they were so tiny it was comical to think they could make a human disappear. One came close to him...he held his breath, too afraid of frightening it away.
He saw that it was, indeed a fairy, but it looked nothing like the usual storybook fairies.
Glowing dark shades of brown and orange, it resembled the human figurine of any 'normal' fairy-whatever that means-but the resemblances stopped there. It had tiny horns like a mountain goat, that curled down its back reaching mid-waist, almost like hair. Its feet were bare and looked slightly transparent, glowing bright orange. It had a long tail that flicked and curled like a cats. Jason expected there to be wings on its back but there was nothing. It simply walked on the air, moving as it wanted, like it was walking on an invisible surface. It surpassed its name in the 'fair' aspect, for it was beautiful, and dark. It wore a flowing black cloak over fitted clothes. Its features were sharp, and its cats eyes showed wisdom far beyond their years. Its ears were rounded like a humans, and covering every inch of visible skin were markings, curling black tattoos.
Jason held his hand out, as the Fairy came closer to him. It looked at him cocking its head and beckoning for the others to come near as well. Jason stiffened and held his breath as they all came closer to him. They quickly surrounded him and began to comunicate with each other, they seemed to be arguing about something. Jason still didnt move, but instead simply observed. He reveled at the fact that they actually existed, but that also meant that the old lady was right. He wasn't sure why she had thought it was the fairies that made the people vanish. They seemed harmless enough, and they were beautiful.
Then they looked like they had come to some agreement and the first fairy came closer to him and simply touched his still hand.
A pain like no other he had ever felt, shot up his arm and through his body, he fell to the floor moaning from the pain. Slivers of icy fear spread through him, stealing his breath and suffocating him.
Then the other fairies slowly descended upon him. At each ones contact another wave of pain shot through him. He screamed, silent and long from lack of air. Fighting them was useless, he was immobile from the pain.
In that moment Jason knew that he would never be seen by any living man again. He should never have listened to those stories, never have gone into the forest, much less at night. He could no longer think over the pain, it was excruciating, filling his head, covering his sight, muting his hearing. They were lifting him up..carrying him away. He began to grow numb to the pain, it faded to a dull throb. He moaned, and begged them to take him back home. The orange fairy looked at him. Then..
  Black.
  Nothing.
  Everything was gone.

One Year Ago...

Guys...

(*cough*and gals*cough* I'm apparently here to comment and fix any errors that M. made. -E.)

(BTW this is completely M's post! Don't tell her I'm here;))

Friends...

GUESS WHAT?!
(What? oh hey people! It's L. I snuck into M.'s post:) (Oh hey L.! How's it going? M. doesn't know we're here, right?)  (Hey E. you can join me in sneaking around!  I don't know if she has caught us yet.)

It has been one (uno) (eins) (What??) year since Simplex began. Allow me to share the story with you....

"What should we call it?" E. and I deliberate as we sit in front of my computer. Ideas are tossed out quicker than bad cheese. "We could smush two words together and make a new word. It catches people's attention." (M.'s idea..) We go through a LOT of names... Something about a literary fortress? (M.'s idea..) Nah. We settle on mystery. (Also M.'s idea...) "Of what?"

"This is too complicated..." I say. Complex... hmmm. I thought blogging would be simpler than this!! Simple.. Complex.. "Simplex!" I call out.

"What...??" (I was more like: "whaaaaaaaaaaaa.....???) E. looks at me, confused. I explain. "Simplex is something that is simple and yet at the same time, it's complex. Like rain. Or God's grace." (M. literally thought of this in about 10 seconds!) That's M. for ya!)

"Just put something down!" (We have tried to make a name probably for an hour...) (ha! More like 'two' hours! :D it was roughly 11:00pm by then and we were both exhausted)

Here is a picture for you!
The story above may or may not be exact, (its pretty close;)) but the process for making the pages, first post, and design for Simplex went along those same lines of taking forever to make decisions...(like forever) :D But we made it. On October 12th, a year ago today, our blog went live online. And look where God has brought us today! (I'm still amazed at what He has done, and where He has brought me - all of us - since then;)) (I did not know that story until I read this. What troopers they are!)

We have a new author, L!
(she mentioned me :)) We have published 58 posts ranging from random to theological (and just plain weird;) mostly by me:)). We've hit over 2,000 page views!!!! (Can I get a round of applause, people?! woot! woot!) The background has been changed multiple times... (mostly by M. once by me) and God's been glorified through it all. (AMEN!!)
Thanks YOU, readers, for making our last year of blogging a wonderful one! (Yeah thanks guys! Especially the three of you who comment! God loves you all though!)

Catch you later! Stay tuned for more Simplexities here! (Siml..sompx..coxcity...Whaaaaaa.....??? ;)) (What???)

-M.
(and L.:)) (Don't forget about me!! Otherwise known as: - MOOO!! - *cough* I mean: - penguins are cool - AAAAHHHH I'm going insane!! -- insert evil witch cackle here -- E.)

It's A Beautiful Day

Hey everybody!! E. here. I know it's been a while since my last post...
ok correction: 'long' while, and you've been wanting to hear from me again(hopefully, 'cause if not...-insert whatever impending demise you wish-*cough* I mean..that's ok!! I still love you anyway!!) wow that just rhymed....weird...
Anywho, I wanted to talk about rain. I know M. has sort of already done that..but rain is just soo cool that I just had to talk about it too!
and, also it has been raining the passed few days! Which is totally awesome!!(coming from the girl who has lived in AZ all her life) so basically rain is cool:) (no pun intended) and wet! And my favorite thing to do, is stand in the middle of it when everyone else(a.k.a. my family) is hiding under shelter. No matter what kind of day I'm having, as soon as it starts raining, my mood changes and I'm happy.
('..because I'm HAPPEEEEEEEEE...')
I remember when I was little I used to think about how, when there is complete cloud cover, even though I can't see the sun, it's still shining and as bright as ever! How cool is that?! I remember one time when I was younger, I though that the rain had put out the sun. I wondered if it would ever shine again, and then I figured God would light it again when the rain was over, and He always did!
(Bunnies....my brother is obsessed with bunnies)
I was never afraid of lightening, the explanation for this is simply that my mother always told me that the Angels where bowling up in heaven. It made me happy to think that they were having fun and probably laughing with joy:) sometimes I wondered if the rain was because they used cups of water, instead of bowling pins...hmmm...I wonder...
I think that the main reason I love rain is that it brings back soo many memories!..how I would watch two rain drops roll down my car window, pretending it was a race..
(crunch)
asking--more like begging--my mom to let me and my siblings play in the rain, trying to reassure her that we wouldn't get struck by lighting, and then struggling to put on our swim suits as fast as we could, silently willing the rain to stay...jumping and sliding on the slick wet surface of our trampoline...
(crunch)
...scouring our house from top to bottom, trying to find an umbrella, just so I could say I used it that year, and look important while standing in the rain...
(crunch-*cough* oh sorry for interrupting 'food is good'!!)
...jumping in puddles of water, trying to make a big enough splash to spray my siblings...these are just a few, happy memories I reminisce about when it rains.
The smell after it rains is one of pure happiness! And it's so refreshing! Sometimes I just stand outside and breathe deeply for a few minutes, and it always makes me feel better:)  rain is espe...
              *          *          *         *
Zig zag stripes are cool! And the amazingness of actually tying a shoelace!

              *          *          *         *
     Penguins don't say "waddle..waddle"
Cows aren't only black and white
     Ducks both fly and swim
Goats don't eat just anything, they are actually very picky eaters (please don't ague with me on that one-I promise-you won't win)
              *          *          *         *
...cially amazing when it's cold out:) then I can bundle up in a bunch of blankets and read my favorite book!

Anyway, hope you've enjoyed reading this! And I hope you have many comments;) but for now..BYE!!!! And have a WONDERFUL day/week/month/year or whatever;)!!!!!!

I think my sister took this picture. -L.

More pictures

Hey People!
I am here to present you with another of my 'amazing' (quoting M there) drawings.
I drew this from a pin that I got off of Pinterest, and frankly, I love it;)
Unfortunately, it is quite blurry...but I think it still looks relatively alright.

It is so hard for me to choose a single wallpaper to post, since there are so many, therefore I have decided to post more than just one:) I love my reasoning sometimes:)
I laughed soo hard when I saw this:)
For those of you who aren't percy Jackson fans (hi M) this is Leo (who is the son of hephestus: god of the forges/fire) and Hazel (daughter of Hades: god of the underworld/dead people)...and you should get who the big 'scary' dragon is..
This is soo pathetic, I don't even know what to say..
For these three, I really wanted to go with encouragement..I am kind of bad at that. Anyway, I hope these make you smile:)
So don't let them control you! Give them to Him!
   Bi, for now;)

Creative Writing Prompt #14

Hello people of the earth! I welcome you in peace!(oh never mind)
Hi everybody, sorry about that:) I think I've been watching too much, 'Doctor Who', anyways, to the point! Or, technically, 'prompt':) oh don't I have such a great sense of humor?! Anyways...
This Creative Prompt, was really fun for me to write. It's basically one of my homework story's, from a class that I am in. I was told to describe a picture-that I was designated-like I would to a blind person, someone who couldn't see the picture. I thought it would be hard, but in the end, it was really easy! And surprisingly fun:) I hope you enjoy it!

          *        *        *        *        *
It is quiet. The sun is setting, peeping its last rays over distant mountains. There is still enough light to cast long shadows upon the soft, grassy earth.
There is a small part of a large forest-somewhere in the world-where the trees grow tall, in long straight lines. Their towering branches reach out to each other, forming a perfect arch. No one knows how they grew like that, perhaps an old farmer planted them, knowing that he would never live to see them bloom in spring. But he planted them anyway, knowing that his children, and grand children would.
Mysteriously, all the trees are perfectly groomed, and beneath the tall formed arch, are three small pine trees. They stood, lonely and forgotten. But they stood proudly, as if they were waiting to see a young child's face, light up with joy at the sight of them being hung with string popcorn, pretty lights, and glass ornaments, for Christmas Day.
Just above the small trees, are little designs trimmed out of the tree leaves, it is said that they grow in that way, to remember the farmer who planted them.
              *       *       *       *       *
Ta-da! Please comment on how you liked it! And here is the picture that I had to describe:

Bi! (Typo?nope! It's a combination of 'hi' and 'bye'-bi! Crazy weird right?)
Anyway,:) bi! Until next time.

Easter poem

Hello! It's nice to meet you!...have we met before? 'Cause you look really familiar...(wait for it..)oh! Snap!! Hey how's it going? Good? Great! Oh you want me to post something? Ok, let me see what I have...hmm..*pulls out big stack of papers*..oh this looks good..nope not that one..maybe, nope! Not that one either..oooo! I'll do this one!..hehehe..hope it doesn't bore you too much;)

             *       *       *       *       *

    The Easter Story

The day of Christ's death
on Good Friday night
He wept in loud voice
to set all things right

For three long hours
darkness covered the land
the great curtain was torn
never again to stand

They grieved His suffering
for all of our lies
and prayed for God
to reopen their eyes

They wept for His death
and mourned for His pain
they rejected the sin
that continued through Cain

They placed his strong body
inside a cold tomb
They rolled a large stone
to seal the dark room

But some feared the truth
so they guarded the place
They sealed the large stone
right down to the base

But Easter still dawned
Warm and quite sunny
what was found at the tomb
was all very funny

The stone was rolled 'way
When they came there at dawn
they soon discovered
His body was gone!

Then an angel appeared
Saying 'don't be afraid'
He is risen from death
all our sins have been paid

They ran to tell others
Filled with joy and much glee
When Jesus then met them
Saying 'meet me in Galilee'

When they told the disciples
they went up to the city
They met Him with doubt
but never with pity

He rebuked their little faith
and their refusal to believe
after seeing Him risen
upon which he grieved

He said 'go into the world
and preach the good news
That I have risen from death
and it isn't a ruse'

Then He ascended to heaven,
so with all of their might
The disciples went out
and fought the good fight!

             *       *       *       *       *

   That was my story/Easter poem.
I hope you liked it! Though its not very well written, it was a lot of fun for me to write, and I think I shall write more poems in the future:)and here is a cute picture that goes along with Easter:) (sort of)

   Happy Easter everyone!

My EXTREMELY Random Post

Hi! I'm back!! apparently i was missed;)(*fake tear* it's great to be loved) I want to make you laugh (cause laughing is awesome) so here goes nothin'.........
.
.
.
.
.
Hi guys! (And gals...my brain is telling me to be politically correct...whatever that means) its E here...finally...oops *innocent laugh. I would be all apologizing for not writing anything for the past month and a half...but I know you don't want to hear any lame excuses...sooo I will just continue;)
I'm sure I've confused you by now...not quite sure if I haven't succeeded in confusing myself yet..but then it is really easy to confuse me(I can hear you laughing)
And there I go rambling. I decided to write an extremely random post...
....I guess this is it...
...or it's it?...*sinister music in background...*followed by evil laugh: mwahahahahaha!!..yo, peace out man...
Ok that got really random...continuing...
I recently saw a sign on the side of the road that said: "don't look down on anyone, unless you do so only to pull them back up". It made me realize how often I tend to think of people I don't know, being 'lower' than me. That got me really thinking... Now when I go to stores or restaurants, I'm going to imagine that every one in the building, are secret agents, or undercover cops trying to protect people from a bad guy, or something along those lines....and (as I like to quote..) 'the possibilities are endless!' It also makes them be 'more important' as I like to say...because who am I? to judge who they are??
...ok I just reread over what I wrote..and is it just me or do i sound really selfish?...
    Selfish-fish, fish-water, water-thirsty, thirsty-working, working-busy, busy-tired, tired..
.
.
.
.
.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

*POP!!*
.
  Hey! I'm awake!!
Sometime this week I was over at a store called 'Tuesday morning' and I bought this awesome clipboard, with paper to use for writing letters to people but I can't figure out who to write to...until now-no its not you- (ha! It always works like that..)
I hope I've made you laugh by now..:) if not this should:
Or this:
Or maybe this...

If that didn't work I don't know what will....

Ok. I'm gonna say goodbye for now!
'Goodbye for now'
And have a great day! Don't forget to smile!!
(Wow that sounds like something the dentist is supposed to say..)

    Hmmm...now for a funny wallpaper....oh this'll work!
Now that I think about it..I would probably just call the doctor!;)

    Bye!

Latest drawing;)

Here is the hilarious and cute drawing, that took a while for me to finish. but it worked out better than I thought it would!:

Isn't it adorable?;) And if you haven't seen any of the pooh movies, well then all I can say is you are missing out!!

This wallpaper is so that you can compare and contrast between drawing and actual picture. (here is the extremely small wallpaper that I drew the picture from! I had to look at my iPod screen the whole time)

Let me know if I did a good job!

Sun screen, Books, and THE SHACK

Hey! It's E here. Well I have been sick for the past week (and still am) so I apologize for not posting anything. I will hopefully make up for it in the next few weeks! In this post I just feel like talking about a bunch of random stuff! Namely...things that are simplex...hopefully. I'm not quite sure how that's going to work;)

I figured that I would start with sun screen! Why sun screen? You ask? Because it really is a great invention! Just think about it for a moment...(a little bit longer than that)...it's a simple lotion that you rub (or spray) on your skin to protect it from a specified form of non luminous radiation, otherwise known as UV rays, or the Sun! Isn't that crazy?! And we all take it for granted! (at least..I know I do) just imagine what would happen if sun screen had never been invented! To think...all those people enjoying a day at the beach, only to go home with ugly red welts on their skin! (Ok, that's not the best picture to have...but I'm sure you get the idea!) I think that sun screen is simplex, how 'bout you?

Mirrors are also cool, and yet so very simple! Glass, Metal, and a Frame! That's all that a mirror is! Amazing isn't it? And yet a mirror shows you a whole different world! A completely different way of looking at things! And yet, everything that you see in a mirror is just the reverse of the real thing! So simple and yet complex. I always have wanted to be able to go inside of a mirror and see what it's like....I wonder....

Ohh dont get me started about books! Too late!..Books and their mysterys. When I walk into a library, I sometimes feel sad. I'm sad for the books that never get read...the ones that sit, almost droopy like, just collecting dust because no one reads them. And I love the feel of a old book that's been read time and time again, so that the cover is worn and the pages have marks on them from years of fingers passing over each word. I love the smell of old books, with yellowing pages, so fragile you're almost afraid to touch them. If only I had more time...to be able to read all the books in the world! Both good and bad...the stories of people, their struggles  and victorys, conveyed through ink. New books are just as good...to open the cover of a brand new book that has never been read since being printed. The cover crackles quietly and the pages inside are crisp and white. The black letters are firmly pressed to the page, lined up like little soldiers, some round and fat and others tall and thin. Oh the joy of poring over words that tell a fantastic story spun and woven through an authors hand is so incredible it's hard to put into words. If books were ever banned from being read I don't think I would be able to live. And somehow eBooks just aren't the same.....well I'll stop there before I go too far..though feel like I could continue on forever about books!

The last thing is God. But I don't know if He is simplex, maybe...hmmm. I know that everytime i try to figure him out, I  just get more Confused!  I'm currently reading a book right now (big surprise) that's called 'The Shack' by William P. Young.

I'm nearly fininshed with it, and I have to say it is truly an amazing book about God and His mysteries. If you know me, then you would probably know that I say many books are amazing, but this one is phenomenal! And if you do know me please don't hesitate to ask if you can borrow it! The books summary goes something like this:

Mackenzie Allen Philips's youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.
Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever.
In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question: Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain? The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him.

This book has definitely made me stop and think things that I've never considered before. It has shown me again that God is truly a mystery that i'll never understand!! It reminds me of a verse in Revelation. In it God is speaking, and he says: 'I am the alpha and the Omega,' says The Lord 'the one who was, who is, and who is to come. The almighty.' I hope that if you read this book, you really will be changed by it.

 Here are two reviews:

“THE SHACK is the most absorbing work of fiction I've read in many years. My wife and I laughed, cried, and repented of our own lack of faith along the way. THE SHACK will leave you craving for the presence of God.” -Michael W. Smith, recording artist

“Wrapped in creative brilliance, THE SHACK is spiritually profound, theologically enlightening, and life-impacting. It has my highest recommendation. We are joyfully giving copies away by the case.” -Steve Berger, pastor of Grace Chapel, Leipers Fork, TN

Well I guess that's all I've got for today! have a wonderful Super Bowl weekend and don't eat too much junk food!;)

Creative Writing Prompt #5

Hello! I have successfully finished my second CWP! (Man I gotta write more of these) I hope you enjoy it!

Creative writing prompt #5: You wake up trapped in a basement. Tell the story of how you end up in there. (not how you get out.)

...I walked quickly down the street, my long dress flowing like silk over my legs. I want so much to turn my head and look behind me, at the man I knew was following. I forced myself to slow my pace, but after a few moments I gave up and continued to step to the pace of my heart. It was beating so loud and hard I though it might burst.
There, up ahead the taxicab that was to take me...where? I knew not...he only told me that I would get in and...and what?...he didn't give me any directions. He told me I would be followed, but that I must not trust them, or believe whatever they told me. He only asked that I trust him. Did I? I wasn't sure. He promised me my freedom, what more could I want?
I heard the footsteps behind me increase their pace, my heart raced to an impossible speed. I made a run for the cab, threw open the door, launched myself in, and slammed it behind me, locking it for good measure. The driver was obviously expecting me, because he slammed on the gas, and began to swerve madly to avoid hitting anything. the car squealed in protest, as did I. I hoped I was now safe, but I wasn't sure. The driver glanced up at his rearview mirror looking very worried. I finally gave in, and looked behind, following the gaze of the driver.

I knew then even before he said anything, that, of course, I was being followed..again. As I looked back, only confirming what I knew, my fear grew as I noticed that the car in pursuit of me (for It was me they were after) was not even attempting to be hidden. The man who was driving the car was violently jerking the steering wheel back and forth, weaving his way through the many cars honking in protest. Coming quickly closer and closer. I urged the driver to go faster, unfortunately he was unable to, there where two cars in front of us that had 'conveniently' decided to stop in the middle of the road. My heart sunk as I realized why.

Three men emerged from the cars and ran straight for my taxicab. In my fear and stupidity I unlocked my door and made a run for it. I dodged the still honking cars and ran into a dark alley hoping it wasn't a dead end. Thankfully it wasn't, but the men giving pursuit quickly surrounded me.  They stood there watching me as I stood there panting in fear. I quickly realized escape was impossible, and yet they didn't do anything, it was like they were waiting...

And then...there he was...he walked toward the men and they stood aside for him. he smiled, "Hi Kat!" I frowned in disgust of his pet name for me, but he refused to call me anything else. He continued, "well, you did trust me, unfortunately that's not enough, so I can't let you go. But have a nice ride!"  My mouth dropped, I shut it just as fast. He looked amused of all things! Then one of the men slapped a wet cloth over my face, and I knew, he had betrayed me...I didn't understand...He had promised, promised, my freedom, and remembered why I never trusted him. Because, of course, you can never trust a liar.

I cracked my eyes open slowly, aware of a growing headache. I couldn't  see a thing, it was dark, and I noticed the cold of the floor I was laying on. My eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness and I vaguely saw that I was in a small room with a short flight of stairs leading to a door (it was locked as I had expected) ,a sliver of light was squeezing through the bottom, barely illuminating the room.
I now saw that I was in a basement.....

Goodbye... until next time!
